Home-School Communication

We use Class Dojo to inform you of the learning that your child has experienced during the week. We provide photos and information, alongside suggestions on how to further support your child at home.
As a parent, you can use ClassDojo to message the class teacher with anything you feel they need to know about. For example, Billy will be going home with Grandma on Friday or Jessica had a sleepless night so may be tired today.

Supporting your child at home

We recognise that parents and school working together will help to provide the best experience for your child.

When your child begins to learn phonics, we will send home sound cards for you to use at home. We will also provide videos through ClassDojo on how to use the sound cards.
Your child will read 2-3 times a week with an adult in class. There is an expectation that you also read at home and make a comment in the home school diary. Reading books will be changed once a week.
Children will also bring home a ‘Bedtime Bugs’ book to read and share with an adult.
From the Spring Term, your child will be given a Numbots log-in. The children are encouraged to use Numbots for around ten minutes each week.
